I.M. Frellsen K/S is an old family business specializing in quality chocolate and coffee products for both private consumers and the industry. Frellsen is represented with 40 highstreet shops in Denmark and has a well established brand name.
While working on an extensive Internet strategy, Frellsen wished to gain fast entry into the market by expanding their existing website with a low cost shopping solution.

Nesthood recommended creating an electronic gift shop with a unique design profile, which would function both as an extension to the existing website, while at the same time laying the framework for a future gift shop in a separate environment. Emphasis was laid on easy user navigation and creating a classic design hinting on Frellsen’s good reputation as a solid family business with old traditions, quality products and reliability.

The shop was introduced early June 2000 and currently offers a range of 10 chocolate boxes with personalized gift cards and payment by one type of credit card. Credit card data is entered in a secure environment, and all data is SSL-encrypted during transfer. The payment solution has been developed by Nethow Betalingssystemer, a daughter company to Nesthood which is specialized in the development of secure payment systems for the Internet.

Frellsen Internet Shop is actively promoted in Frellsen’s physical stores, thus ensuring that the customers here will not need to go elsewhere for their electronic purchases. Frellsen plans to actively use the experience gathered from this first generation shop in their future e-strategy.
